Youths United
Youths United (YU) is more than an Events company. It is a vehicle and a movement by which individuals of all ages - and businesses and organisations of all types - can support, enjoy and promote sporting, cultural, social and economic ventures in Europe and Africa. By organising unique sporting extravaganzas YU aims to create projects that will:
• Fire the imagination and challenge participants to set new standards for themselves.
• Assist to promote and generate sports tourism in regions wishing to embrace or develop this growing sector of tourism.
• Give sponsors a higher profile through focused PR and International multi media coverage
• Assist established charities and organisations such as ADAPH (a charity helping disabled children and adults in the Sahara) and Cruz Roja (the Spanish Red Cross)
by encouraging athletes to raise money for charity and by encourage initiatives that help to provide resources for these organisations.
YU was formed in 2003 by Xavier “Tila” Braddock and the company is based on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. The past 5 years have seen the 2 main annual events “The Dash” and Las Tres Islas become the most internationally televised sports events from the Canary Islands and in 2007 one further event “Surfaya Surf Classic” (a surf contest held at Tarfaya, Morocco) was added to the schedule.
YU´s vision is simple, to create partnerships with local communities, tourist boards and businesses through the implementation of innovative events. In doing so we hope to open doors, build relationships and encourage like minded people to become involved either through participating, sponsoring, donating or volunteering.
